This tensioner uses a windless barrel to tighten the banding. The advantage is greater tension over a standard feedwheel tensioner. After tensioning,sealing and removal of the bander, there is a "pigtail" that is left on the banding.

 

While this bander is a little more cumbersome to use, it will allow you to pull the tension that some applications require. A standard feedwheel tensioner has limited tension before the feedwheel slips on the banding causing loss of tension and damage to the bander. The WT2 uses a gripper and windless barrel to pull tension to the steel banding, eliminating the feedwheel and threshold of overtensioning that causes slipping on the band.
